Keshav Maharaj, Wiaan Mulder Picked In South Africa Test Squad Against Pakistan Despite Injuries

Keshav Maharaj and Wiaan Mulder have been included in South Africa's Test squad for the upcoming series against Pakistan, starting on December 26 in Centurion, despite being on varied stages of their respective injuries. Maharaj sustained an acute groin strain on Tuesday during warm-ups ahead of the first ODI against Pakistan at Boland Park in Paarl. Cricket South Africa (CSA) said Maharaj will undergo a scan on Wednesday to determine the severity of the injury. Mulder's inclusion comes as he completed the final phase of his recovery from a fractured right middle finger, which kept him out of the second Test against Sri Lanka. If Mulder is selected for the first Test, CSA said batter Matthew Breetzke will be released from the squad.

How Can India Qualify For World Test Championship Final After 3rd Australia Test Ends In Draw

The Indian cricket team's path to the World Test Championship (WTC) Final got a bit complicated with their third Test match against Australia ending in a draw in Brisbane on Wednesday. The match was riddled with rain stoppages and with bad light stopping play just after the final session on Day 5, the two captains and umpires decided to call the match off. With this result, India now have a tough road ahead in order to book their spot in the WTC Final with South Africa, Sri Lanka and Australia also in hot pursuit.

"Bilkul Hi Nahi Hai Bhookh": Shubman Gill Blasted By Ex-Pakistan Star After Yet Another Poor Show

It has been a disappointing few months for Shubman Gill. The Indian cricket team batter has been struggling for runs in the ongoing Test series against Australia. Gill's dismissals received a lot of criticism from the former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali who believes that the youngster is lacking "hunger for runs". Gill failed to score big in the third Test match in Brisbane as well after he was dismissed for 1. Basit said that youngsters like Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal should not look at the struggles of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He added that Gill needs to forget the past and concentrate more on his game.

Saim Ayub, Salman Agha Steer Pakistan To Victory In First ODI vs South Africa

Saim Ayub hit a superb 109 and Salman Agha starred with bat and ball as Pakistan beat South Africa by three wickets in the first one-day international at Boland Park on Tuesday. The left-handed Ayub and Salman (82 not out) shared a fifth wicket partnership of 141, rescuing Pakistan from 60 for four. Salman, who earlier had career-best bowling figures of four for 32 as South Africa were restricted to 239 for nine, was named man of the match – but he handed the trophy to Ayub. "Without Ayub we would not have won the game," said Salman. "He was there with the new ball and he set up the game."

How Pakistan Can End Up Helping India Secure World Test Championship Final Berth - Explained

The Indian cricket team's hopes of reaching the World Test Championship (WTC) were dealt a massive blow as they slumped to a big loss in the pink-ball Test against Australia in Adelaide. With the third Test also placed in a precarious position due to India's batting show and heavy chances of rain, the WTC dream seems to be slipping away slowly. India need a 4-1 win in the 5-match Test series to qualify without depending on any other results. However, if the third match ends in a draw, Rohit Sharma and Co will have to win at least one of the final two Test matches to keep their dream alive.
