Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) can avail the services of star Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell in its upcoming IPL match against Mumbai Indians on April 9, said the team's head coach Mike Hesson. Despite joining the camp after completing his mandatory quarantine period, Maxwell will not be available for RCB's game against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday due to a clause laid down by Cricket Australia for its contracted players.
Pakistan put in some superlative performances to get the better of the visiting Australia team in the three-match ODI series. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam led from the front, scoring two centuries and a fifty, amassing 276 runs in the series at an average of 138 and a strike-rate of 102.22. Big Bash League teams seem to have taken notice of his impressive outings against Australia, and surely Babar Azam would be in high demand for the next season of the BBL. Following Pakistan's series win over Australia, the official handle of the BBL had a question for the Twitter universe.
South Africa thrashed Bangladesh by 220 runs in the first Test at Kingsmead, Durban on Monday. With this win, South Africa took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series, and also climbed to second spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table, with four wins from six Tests so far. Bangladesh, on the other hand, are currently second from bottom, having won just one of their five matches.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head coach Brendon McCullum is happy to have his premier paceman Pat Cummins back in the ranks. Cummins missed the first three matches of the season as he was part of Australia's touring party to Pakistan, where he led the Test team to a 1-0 series victory. Shreyas Iyer has impressed many with his sharp captaincy skills this season and the head coach is impressed too. McCullum feels Cummins' availability will bolster the leadership group.
Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) director of cricket operations, Mike Hesson, put a lid on the rumours surrounding the availability of Australian limited-overs specialist Glenn Maxwell, saying that he will not be available for the crucial game against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. Maxwell has missed the first couple of matches for RCB and will also miss the third game against RR on Tuesday as he is contracted to Cricket Australia (CA). The 33-year-old will, however, be available for selection for RCB's fourth match in IPL 2022 on April 9 against Mumbai Indians. "From a Cricket Australia point of view, no contracted players are available before the 6th of April. So, regardless of when they arrive over here, no one can play until the 6th. We've been well aware of that as any other side, we've planned for that. Maxi will be with us and available from the 9th (of April)."
The County Championship season gets under way on Thursday with cricket fans around the country eagerly awaiting its return.
