CHARLOTTE, N.C.: American red numbers filled the electronic scoreboards Thursday in the Presidents Cup, an outcome that surprised no one for these one-sided matches.
Pakistan levelled the ongoing seven-match series on Thursday after chasing down 200 with ten wickets in hand. Now, the hosts will look to take a 2-1 lead when they take the field on Friday evening in the third T20I. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan put on an unbeaten stand of 203 runs, and England's bowlers had no answers to stop the onslaught. England might have posted 199 runs on the board, but the bowlers completely looked out of sorts. Moeen Ali will hope that his bowlers are able to bounce back strongly on Friday. Both teams will look to win the third T20I to gain an advantage in the ongoing series.
Pakistan claimed a remarkable 10-wicket victory over England in the second T20 international in Karachi on Thursday. Azam hammered 110 not out for his second T20I hundred while Rizwan scored an undefeated 88 as the pair completed a chase of 200 in 19.3 overs at a packed National Stadium. With 1,929 runs together, the Azam-Rizwan partnership has become the most prolific in T20Is, beating Indian stars Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma's record of 1,743 in 51 matches. Azam and Rizwan have achieved the record in just 36 games. The win levelled the seven-match series at 1-1 after England won the first game by six wickets, also in Karachi on Tuesday.
Babar Azam was at his very best on Thursday night as the Pakistan skipper scored 110 not out off only 66 balls to guide his side to a 10-wicket win against England in the second T20I of the 7-match series. The match at the National Stadium, Karachi saw Babar hitting 11 fours and 5 sixes during his knock. Meanwhile, the innings also helped Babar become only the first Pakistan batter to register two T20I centuries. Pakistan romped England by 10 wickets to level the T20I series 1-1 with five more matches to go.
BOSTON: The Boston Celtics have suspended coach Ime Udoka for the 2022-23 season, effective immediately, and with no guarantee he will be back with the franchise in the future.
It is not every day that two batters carry their bat through the innings in a high-pressure chase and help their team win the match on a canter. Pakistan captain Babar Azam and his trusted deputy Mohammad Rizwan did just that as the hosts roared back to level the 7-match T20I series at 1-1 as the duo chased down a 200-run target while staying unbeaten and also creating an all-new world record.
LOS ANGELES: Kawhi Leonard has been cleared for 5-on-5 basketball again, more than a year since his last NBA game.
BRISBANE, Australia: Spain-based winger Awer Mabil scored his eighth goal in 29 appearances for Australia and the Socceroos beat New Zealand 1-0 Thursday at Suncorp Stadium.
