India May Play Its Asia Cup Games In UAE, And Not In Pakistan: Report

In a possible solution to the Asia Cup logjam, Pakistan may remain the host and India could be offered to play its matches in the UAE where some games will be held, according to sources in the Board (PCB). In such a scenario, the UAE will also host the final if India qualifies for it, according to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) source. An emergent meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was held in Bahrain on February 4 at the behest of PCB chief Najam Sethi after the continental body released its itinerary and Pakistan wasn't named the hosts of the tournament.

"Must Have Been Crook Or Injured...": Australia Great's Strong Quotes On Batter's Exclusion Against India

Legendary Australian cricketer Allan Border is still at pains to understand why middle-order batter Travis Head was excluded from the side that suffered an innings and 132-run defeat against India in the opening Test at Nagpur. Head has been in sublime form since the 2021/22 Ashes series, where he was adjudged Player of the Series after Australia won the five-Test series 4-0. He was the joint second-highest run-getter during the three-Test series at home against South Africa recently, which Australia won 2-0.

Renshaw couldn't make an impact in Nagpur, getting dismissed for 0 and 2 respectively.Border felt the Australians were "overthinking" their strategy, and decided to drop Head only because of his two mediocre runs during the previous tours of Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Shahid Afridi's take on Asia Cup stand-off: 'Even ICC won't be able to do anything in front of BCCI'

Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi believes that even the International Cricket Council (ICC) won't be able to convince the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on the issue of Pakistan being the hosts for the 2023 Asia Cup, which is now likely to move out of the country. The BCCI has made it clear that the Indian team won't travel to Pakistan for the tournament because of the tense political relations between the two countries, and the Pakistan Cricket Board reacted by threatning to boycott the ODI World Cup to be held in India later this year. The continental tourney is significant as it is scheduled just before the ODI World Cup, which India is hosting and Pakistan has threatened to boycott in a tit-for-tat riposte."I have no idea, will India visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup? Will we boycott the ODI World Cup in India? But we need to take a stand at some point or the other," Afridi told 'Samaa TV'.
