Scrabble in the Jungle Championship debuts August 26
A new level of organised scrabble tournament, tagged Scrabble in the Jungle Championship, will debut in the country on August 26. The tournament, put together by Scrabble Las Vegas in conjunction with the Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF), will involve eight top-ranked players selected by NSF, as well as four wildcard nominees. They will compete over 36 round of games in a closed location over a three-day period.

Indian grappler Ravi Kumar Dahiya won the gold medal in the Men's Freestyle 57kg category in the Commonwealth Games 2022. He defeated Ebikewenimo Welson of Nigeria at the Coventry Arena Wrestling Mat B on Saturday. "I came here with the goal of winning a gold medal for the country and achieved it. My next target is World Championship and I will try to win a gold medal for the country there also," Dahiya said.

Jamaica's Elaine Thompson-Herah has set a new games record by winning gold in the women's 200m final on day nine of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The win means that she completes the 100/200m double at the Games, having won the 100m in a time of 10.95 seconds on Wednesday. Ad/> Her 200m win came at a time of 22.02s, which was 0.6 ahead of Nigeria’s Favour Ofili, who came 2nd in 22.51s, whilst Christine Mboma of Namibia managed to take Bronze in 22.80s.
