The Chairman of Globacom, Dr. Michael Adenuga Jr., is set to receive one of the highest honours in African sports as he will be celebrated as the Pillar of Sports in Africa at the opening ceremony of the South West Games 2025. Slated to be held on March 26, at the Onikan Stadium, this prestigious recognition underscores his influence on sports development in Nigeria and across the continent, particularly in football, where his visionary sponsorship and commitment have left an indelible mark.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), at the weekend, in Ikenne, Ogun State, signed an agreement with Valuejet Airlines, which makes the firm the official airline of the federation and the national teams. The partnership means that Valuejet will fly the national teams to all their continental and global events. At a ceremony at the Remo Stars Sports Institute, Ikenne-Remo, the Chief Executive Officer/Accountable Manager of ValueJet, Capt. Omololu Majekodunmi, said that the airline is delighted to become an official partner of Nigeria football, and is determined to work towards ensuring comfortable movement and timely presence of the national teams at major international matches and championships.
