England captain Jos Buttler accepted the champions "have no room for error from here on in" at the World Cup after a record 229-run defeat by South Africa. The Proteas piled up 399-7 after Buttler sent them into bat in Mumbai on Saturday, with Heinrich Klaasen defying the hot and humid conditions at the Wankhede Stadium to post a gutsy hundred. India may not have the same balance they had in their first four World Cup games due to Hardik Pandya's injury but it gives the hosts a chance to experiment with a different combination against New Zealand, according to coach Rahul Dravid.
India's ever-dependent all-rounder Hardik Pandya picked up an injury during the match against Bangladesh on Thursday and will miss the next match of the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup against New Zealand on Sunday. "He will not be taking the flight to Dharamsala with the team on 20th October and will now join the team directly in Lucknow where India play England," the BCCI said. Hardik, the vice-captain, hurt his left ankle while trying to stop the ball with his foot and was taken out of the field by the support staff. He was later flown to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for treatment.

India will lock horns against New Zealand at Dharamshala on Sunday. Both teams are undefeated in the tournament, having won four matches each and having eight points. New Zealand is at the top due to a better net run rate.

The star allrounder was injured during India's previous match against Bangladesh and will not be playing against New Zealand. Both the teams are undefeated so far, and the victor will consolidate its place in the top of the Cricket World Cup standings.
After all-rounder Hardik Pandya was ruled out of the game with an ankle injury, another Indian player Suryakumar Yadav was injured during the nets session ahead of India's ICC Cricket World Cup clash against New Zealand at Dharamshala on Sunday.
