During an action-packed day one of second Test between India and South Africa on day one, a total of 23 wickets fell, which is the second highest number of wickets falling on day one of a Test. On the first day at Cape Town, South Africa elected to bat first but was dismissed within a single session. Next up, India started out way better, but a late batting collapse saw them get all out as well. Later in their third innings, the Proteas lost three wickets. The most wickets during the first day of a Test was during an Australia versus England Test back in 1902, when 25 wickets fell on the first day itself.

He also reacted to Pakistan's decision to rest star pacer Shaheen Afridi for the third and final Test against Australia, which got underway on Wednesday in Sydney. The Proteas named a depleted squad due to players' committment with the franchises for the upcoming season of the SA20.

Thanks to Mohammed Siraj's 6/15, India bundled out South Africa for just 55 inside one session. In a straight spell of nine overs, Siraj picked a career-best 6 for 15 as the South African batters made a beeline back to the dug-out, unable to counter the disconcerting bounce and the movement, both inward and outward, that he extracted off the surface.

During the India vs South Africa second Test match at Newlands in Cape Town, Virat Kohli was once again seen using his 'bail-swap' move. Ahead of Stumps on Day 1, Aiden Markram seemingly tried to waste some time to avoid another over. This is when Kohli got near the stumps and swapped the bails. Kohli playfully switching the bails during fielding is not new. The player had done this during the first Test against South Africa in Centurion too. However, unlike last time where Kohli's move saw India getting a wicket in the same over, it failed to provide the guests breakthrough as Markram comfortably defended the last ball.

Suryakumar Yadav In Running For ICC Men's T20 Cricketer of Year, Yashasvi Jaiswal For Emerging

India star Suryakumar Yadav was on Wednesday named as one of the four nominees for the ICC Men's T20 Cricketer of the Year 2023. The 33-year-old Indian, who won the accolade in 2022, dominated 2023 in the shortest format with 733 runs from 17 innings at an average of 48.86 and strike rate of 155.95. Young India opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal was also named as one of the four nominees for the ICC Men's Emerging Cricketer of the Year 2023.

Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday praised India's bowling attack against South Africa in the second Test match in Cape Town and said that if the visitors perform well with the bat then they will easily win the long-format game. Ganguly met the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Vishnu Deo Sai in Raipur after getting an invitation from him. While speaking to the press, Ganguly said that he was sad after the 'Men in Blue' lost the ODI World Cup 2023 final match against Australia after displaying a magnificent performance throughout the tournament.
