According to a BCCI source, when the IPL 2022 was going on, BCCI officials had a discussion with stakeholders regarding Women's IPL. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah have made it clear that a full-fledged women's IPL will take place featuring six teams.
