Jack Leach has kept his place in an unchanged England XI for the second Test against New Zealand at Nottingham's Trent Bridge starting Friday after being passed fit following concussion. He was replaced by fellow spinner Matt Parkinson, England's first concussion substitute, but has been cleared to take the field in Nottingham.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has congratulated India legend, Mithali Raj, for an outstanding 23-year international career during which she broke several records. The 39-year-old, who announced her retirement from all international cricket on Wednesday, led India in this year's ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. She had earlier retired from T20Is in September 2019.
England and New Zealand will square off in the second Test of the three-match series, beginning Friday at Trent Bridge. This is a must-win Test for the Kane Williamson-led side if they want to win the series. Joe Root had played an unbeaten 115-run knock to help England get the better of the Kiwis in the Lord's Test and as a result, Stokes got off to a winning start. Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum would look to build on the momentum. New Zealand's top-order disappointed in the first Test and they would look to come good at Trent Bridge.
Pakistan seamer Mohammad Hasnain has signed to play for Oval Invincibles in The Hundred, having just had his bowling action cleared by the International Cricket Council.
