On Potential England Return, Jonny Bairstow Big Admission: "That Comes By..."

Wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow feels it would be "stupid" to brush away the prospect of pushing for a return to the England international setup this summer. Thursday marks exactly nine months since Bairstow's last appearance in an England shirt. He was part of England's T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final heartbreak against India. In the aftermath of England's exit, Bairstow was axed from the Test side as part of a shuffle and revamp of the red-ball squad. England was forced to consider making a couple of changes after being humbled by India in a 4-1 series defeat.

"That's Rubbish...": Rajasthan Royals' Plan For Rs 11 Crore Star Blasted After Loss Against KKR

Rajasthan Royals slumped to their second defeat in IPL 2025 as they were completely outplayed by Kolkata Knight Riders in Guwahati on Wednesday. RR batters once again failed to impress as they are currently at the bottom of the points table after the defeat. Former New Zealand fast bowler Simon Doull blasted Rs 11 crore retainee Shimron Hetmyer and questioned the decision to send the West Indian batter at No. 8. Doull pointed out that the player was paid big money for his batting abilities and even pointed out that he has batted as high as No 3 and No 4 in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Kolkata Knight Riders Told To Move Out Of Kolkata Amid 'Pitch' Row: "They're Paying For..."

Kolkata Knight Riders team management was left disappointed with the surface at Eden Gardens after they were beaten by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 opener. However, curator Sujan Mukherjee made it clear that there will not be any changes to the nature of the pitch going forward. The comments made by the curator did not go down well with former New Zealand pacer Simon Doull who advised the franchise to move out of Kolkata if the problem persists. Doull added that KKR are paying the stadium fees and as the home team, they should have a say on how the pitch will be prepared.

Michael Bracewell To Lead New Zealand In Pakistan ODIs As Tom Latham Ruled Out Due To...

New Zealand wicket-keeper batter Tom Latham has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan with a fractured right hand, New Zealand Cricket said on Thursday. Latham was struck on the hand by a delivery while batting in the nets during training this week, with an X-ray revealing the fracture which will require a cast and at least four weeks rest and rehabilitation. Head coach Gary Stead confirmed Henry Nicholls would replace Latham in the squad, with current T20I captain Michael Bracewell to continue to lead in the ODIs, with Mitch Hay taking the wicket-keeping gloves.

Major Update On Rohit Sharma's Captaincy: Report Says "Modest Outings..."

Rohit Sharma will be leading the Indian cricket team in the upcoming Test series against England despite his poor show in Australia, according to a report by PTI. "Rohit Sharma is expected to lead the India senior team in England despite his modest outings and two Test series defeats against New Zealand and Australia," the report claimed. Rohit had a horrible outing in Australia where he scored just 31 runs in 3 matches and even decided to drop himself for the final Test encounter in Sydney. However, the selectors are expected to not remove him from captaincy following India's Champions Trophy 2025 triumph.

Tour de France champion Pogacar targets Paris-Roubaix’s cobbled ‘hell’

PARIS: Three-time Tour de France champion Tadej Pogacar will race the notorious Paris-Roubaix, known as the ‘Hell of the North’ for its treacherous cobbled mining roads, for the first time, his team UAE announced on Wednesday. Of the five big one-day races known as ‘Monuments’, Paris-Roubaix is the least suited to the Slovenian’s slender frame and adding that title would confirm his growing status as one of the all-time greats. He will be the first reigning Tour de France champion to tackle what is often a mudfest since Greg Lemond in 1991 — the American finished 55th. Cycling legends Bernard Hinault and Eddy Merckx also tried to win the one-day race in 1982 and 1975 respectively, a year after winning the Tour de France. Neither was successful although Merckx finished second, edged out on the line by Roger De Vlaeminck.
