Argentina Sojourn For Indian Hockey Team Before Chile World Cup

Bracing up for the World Cup in Chile, the Indian junior women's hockey team will be training and playing practice matches in neighbouring Argentina to get acclimatised to the conditions, head coach Tushar Khandker said on Thursday. The tournament is scheduled to be held from November 29 to December 10 in Santiago, and Hockey India has named its squad. "We will have our training and practice matches in Argentina before heading to Chile, so that will help us in acclimatising to the conditions and setting the tempo for the Junior World Cup," Khandker said.

Cricket World Cup - 'You Were Bowled By Virat Kohli...': England Great Shuts Down Mohammed Hafeez Over 'Selfish' Jibe at India Star

Virat Kohli has literally owned the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023. In eight matches so far he has scored four half-centuries and two centuries. Virat Kohli's latest ton came against South Africa, which saw him go level with the great Sachin Tendulkar in scoring 49 ODI centuries. However, former Pakistan batter Mohammed Hafeez made strange remark after the ton. "I saw sense of selfishness in Virat Kohli's batting and this happened for the third time in this World Cup. In the 49th over, he was looking to take a single to reach his own hundred and he didn't put the team first," he said on Top Cricket Analysis show.

Cricket World Cup - "Shakib Ka Khauf": Internet Reacts As England Star Shows Helmet To Umpire To Not Get 'Timed Out'

The 'timed out' controversy has became a big news in the world of sports. And there are enough reasons for it to happen. The dismissal of Sri Lanka star Angelo Mathews was the first timed out dismissal in the 146 history of international cricket. The decision of Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan to appeal for a 'timed out' dismissal after Angelo Mathews took over two minutes to get ready to face the ball, as per the rules of the Cricket World Cup, has been widely discussed. The umpires deemed Angelo Mathews and he was left an unhappy man.

Ben Stokes More Pleased With England's Win Than Scoring World Cup Ton

England all-rounder Ben Stokes, who produced a match-winning performance against the Netherlands and also brought up his maiden ton in the World Cup, was more pleased with the team's victory rather than achieving his personal milestone. Stokes took on the opposition bowlers, scoring at a brisk rate, pushing England's score to 300 plus and keeping their hopes of sealing a place in the ICC Champions Trophy alive. After the game, Stokes was quizzed about whether he was pleased with England's victory or about his own performance to which he replied, "more pleased with the victory (than scoring a century), it has been a tough World Cup for us."
