However, the Super 12 stage will resume on October 22 with the match between New Zealand and Australia. However, all eyes are on the high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan that will be played on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. On Saturday, the ICC organised a Captains' Day where all 16 skippers of the participating teams engaged with the media.

Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus expressed concern Saturday about the cold weather in Australia, but insisted the African nation could set the Twenty20 World Cup on fire by upsetting Sri Lanka in the tournament opener. Temperatures at Geelong, where the global showpiece starts on Sunday, have been hovering around 16 degrees Celsius (60 degrees Fahrenheit) and plunging to as low as four in the evening. That is nippy for a Namibian side more used to balmy weather at home this time of year, and Erasmus admitted it was a shock to the system.

Team India reached Australia and they played two practice games against Western Australia XI. The side will also square off against Australia and New Zealand in official warm-up games before taking on Pakistan.
