El torneo de ‘Play-in’ se celebra antes de la primera ronda de los Playoffs de la NBA. Este nuevo formato, implementado desde la campaña 2020-21, tiene como objetivo conocer a los dos últimos clasificados para los Playoffs. Este año se llevará a cabo del 12 al 15 de abril. Los seis primeros equipos de cada conferencia al término de la regular season tienen garantizados sus puestos en los Playoffs, mientras que los situados entre la 7ª y 10ª posición tendrán que disputar este ‘Play-in’.

Estuvo cantado durante semanas y finalmente se hizo realidad: Sacramento Kings se ha convertido en la primera franquicia de la historia con 16 temporadas seguidas sin clasificarse para playoffs. Es un récord nefasto: cada año se clasifican para playoffs 16 de 30 franquicias, más del 50% de la NBA desde su expansión en 2004. En los tres últimos años, el nuevo sistema de play in ha ofrecido un reenganche en el que tampoco se han metido los Kings. Son, otra marca nunca vista, 16 temporadas consecutivas también sin llegar al 50% de victorias. El tope fue el 47,6% de la 2018-19. Valió un noveno puesto del Oeste, a las puertas de las eliminatorias, que los Kings solo han alcanzado esa vez en las 16 que llevan fuera de la lucha por el anillo.

SEOUL, South Korea: North Korea is destroying a South Korean-owned golf course at a scenic mountain resort in the second confirmed case of South Korean assets being eliminated in an area where the rivals once ran a joint tour program, officials said Tuesday in Seoul. North Korea’s demolition of South Korean-built facilities at its Diamond Mountain resort comes as ties between the countries remain strained over the North’s recent series of high-profile missile tests. Responding to queries by The Associated Press, Seoul’s Unification Ministry said it has confirmed North Korea is demolishing the golf resort in addition to a South Korean-owned hotel there.
