"Will Be A Tough Game": India Skipper Harmanpreet Singh Ahead Of Asian Champions Trophy Final

India men's hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh feels that their encounter against Malaysia in the final Asian Champions Trophy on Saturday won't be easy but they are fully prepared for it. India produced a stellar performance to seal off a 5-0 victory against Japan in their semifinal encounter on Friday. While Malaysia also performed a similar result as the mauled Korea to seal their place in the final with a 6-2 victory. In the post-match conference, Harmanpreet addressed the challenge that lies ahead of them in the final of the Asian Champions Trophy.

India vs Japan, Asian Champions Trophy: When And Where To Watch Live Telecast, Live Streaming

India will take on Japan in the semi-final match of the Asian Champions Trophy on Friday in Chennai. No doubt, India will start as favourites after their unbeaten run in the round-robin stage, winning four matches and drawing one to top the points table. However, India would be wary of Japan, the only side the hosts have not beaten. The league match between the two sides had ended in a 1-1 draw. There is a wide gap in the world rankings between the two teams as India are at fourth spot as against 19 of Japan. But the home side should not forget that they had lost to Japan 3-5 in the semifinals of the 2021 edition in Dhaka.

Sweden cling on to set up semi-final with Spain

Sweden held off a late Japan fightback to reach the semi-finals of the Women's World Cup for the fifth time with a 2-1 win at Eden Park on Friday, leaving the tournament without a former winner in the last four. Five days after ousting four-time champions the United States in the last 16, the Swedes dominated the 2011 title winners for most of the evening to set up a semi-final against Spain at the same stadium on Tuesday. Defender Amanda Ilestedt gave Sweden the lead with her fourth goal of the tournament in the 32nd minute with Filippa Angeldal adding the second from the penalty spot just after the break. Japan never gave up the fight but Riko Ueki missed a 76th-minute penalty and her fellow substitute Honoka Hayashi's goal 11 minutes later proved too little, too late as Sweden held firm under immense stoppage-time pressure to progress.
