AC Milan took a further step in a move away from the iconic San Siro with the purchase of land to build a new stadium, a source close to the matter confirmed on Friday. The northern Italian giants currently share the San Siro Stadium to the north-west of the city with rivals Inter Milan. AC Milan have now acquired a 256,000 square metre plot in the San Donato municipality to the south-east of the city, 15 kilometres from the San Siro. According to the Italian press, talks between the municipality of San Donato and local residents will enter a decisive phase next week with a view to a possible building permit being issued.
After the magical performance away to France last week, it's back to business for Ireland as they welcome Italy to the Aviva Stadium on Sunday.

Rohan Bopanna recebtly became the toast of the nation as he won the Australian Open men's doubles title. Bopanna became the oldest man to win a Grand Slam after clinching the Australian Open 2024 men's doubles title, pairing with Matthew Ebden. Bopanna, who is set to turn 44 in March this year, also celebrated becoming the oldest number one in men's doubles history by winning the title in Melbourne on Saturday. The second seeds claimed a 7-6 (7/0), 7-5 victory over unseeded Italian pair Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori on Rod Laver Arena.
John Travolta, the iconic Grease and Pulp Fiction actor, has denied Italian state TV permission to broadcast again pictures of a bizarre dance he performed on Wednesday (7 February), according to local Italian media.
