Pat Cummins Enters 500 International Wickets Club, Becomes 7th Australian To Script Record-Breaking Feat

Australia captain Pat Cummins entered the 500 international wickets club after another effective display with the ball in the fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India. The Sydney Cricket Ground bowed to Cummins after the Australian skipper took the spotlight with his faultless captaincy and stunning bowling display. While up against a struggling Indian batting unit, Cummins kept the pressure on the top order but found his reward in the tail end. Washington Sundar and Jasprit Bumrah were his two victims in the first innings as he returned with figures of 2/37 in his 15.2 over spell.

Watch: Anushka Sharma's Reaction After Virat Kohli Almost Falls For First-Ball Duck Goes Viral

Indian cricket team star batter Virat Kohli once again disappointed his fans as he was dismissed for just 17 on Day 1 of the fifth Test match against Australia in Sydney on Friday. However, things could have been worse as Kohli survived a massive scare on the very first ball of his innings. With India struggling at 17/2, Kohli walked out to bat but he was off to the worst possible start. He edged an outside off-stump delivery to the second slip fielder Steve Smith. The catch was completed by the gully fielder after Smith scooped it up but the review ended with the TV umpire ruling that the ball actually touched the ground. Virat's wife Anushka Sharma was in attendance and her reaction to the incident has gone viral.

"Probably Seen Rohit Sharma For Last Time...": Sunil Gavaskar Feels It's Game Over For India Star In Tests

Game over for Rohit Sharma in Tests? Well, Sunil Gavaskar thinks so. The official word from the India camp is that Rohit 'opted to rest'  from the India vs Australia 5th Test in Sydney. But, 'resting' or 'rested' in Indian cricket often leaves the room for many interpretation. Rohit Sharma was not having a great run since landing in Australia. In his five innings in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Rohit score only 31 runs. After missing the first Test in Perth due to personal reasons, Rohit batted in the middle order in the second and third Tests. He returned to opening in the fourth Test but failed to score big.

'My Final Wish Is Fulfilled': Paralympic Legend Murlikant Petkar Elated On Getting Arjuna Award

India's first gold medallist in Paralympic Games, Murlikant Rajaram Petkar was on Thursday elated by the news that the Sports Ministry has recommended him for the Arjuna Award in the Lifetime category and said his lone remaining wish has been fulfilled. Petkar won a gold medal in men's 50m freestyle swimming in the 1972 Paralympic Games in Heidelberg, Germany, becoming the first Indian to bag an individual gold medal in the Olympics or Paralympic Games. However, his achievement went unnoticed and unrewarded for decades as para-sports did not get much recognition in those times and were not considered for the Arjuna Award, the top sports award before the Khel Ratna was introduced in 1991-92.
