Reports surrounding the Indian dressing room and Gautam Gambhir have been at an all-time high, with some claiming recently that India batter Sarfaraz Khan was pointed at by the head coach for causing the 'leaks'. In a BCCI meeting between Gambhir, captain Rohit Sharma, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and other officials, Gambhir apparently put the blame on Sarfaraz for causing the dressing room leaks, as per a video report by News 24. While there has been no confirmation or proof regarding this, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has explosively stated that such reports are not good for the team.

Under his leadership, the India team won a bronze medal in the Paris Olympics.
Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar said he has a strong belief in Rohit Sharma having the autonomy to decide when he retires from international cricket, though he thinks the selectors could also have a say in it. As India suffered a 3-1 Test series loss in Australia, Rohit made just 31 runs in five innings, and his decision to stand down from the Sydney Test increased speculation on his international future.
Vidarbha batter Karun Nair's stunning form in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) has sparked debates of his return to the Indian team. So far in seven innings, Nair has notched up scores of 112, 44, 163, 111, 112, 122 and 88, and has been dismissed just once in the tournament so far. Amid his sparkling run of form in VHT, fans and experts have vouched for his selection in India's squad for the upcoming ODI series against England, as well as the ICC Champions Trophy.
Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma returned to practice following his disastrous run of form during the Test series against Australia. Rohit started his practice with the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team and in a video going viral on social media, he was seen practicing with teammate Hardik Pandya in the Mumbai Indians nets. India are all set to play England in ODI and T20I series before travelling for the Champions Trophy 2025. While Hardik will travel to Kolkata for a 3-day training camp ahead of the T20I series, Rohit is expected to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy.
Former Indian footballer Bhaichung Bhutia expressed hope that this year will be a fine one for the Indian football and said that the team needs a consistent striker to replace the retired legend and former captain Sunil Chhetri. Bhutia was talking to ANI in Siliguri and said, "After a disastrous 2024, I hope 2025 will be a good year for the team. We have the Asia Cup qualifier which I believe we will be able to qualify. We have got a couple of good matches coming, some friendlies. The team also looks good." Talking about replacing Chhetri, Bhutia said that the team needs someone who can score goals as consistently as the 40-year-old icon.
Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu's valiant fight ended in disappointment, but Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lifted the spirits of the Indian camp with a dominant performance as they stormed into the semifinals of the India Open Super 750 badminton tournament on Friday. Satwik and Chirag, the 2022 champions, pulverised the Korean pair of Jin Yong and Kang Min Hyuk with a barrage of attacking shots, winning 21-10, 21-17 in just 41 minutes.
