Reigning champion Shiva Thapa began his title defence with a commanding win over Enayat Khan in welterweight (60-65kg) category at the 8th Elite Men's National Boxing Championship in Bareilly on Thursday. Representing Assam, Thapa, who made history as the youngest Indian boxer to qualify for the Olympics at 2012 London Games, defeated Enayat 5-0 in his opening bout, setting a strong tone for his campaign. Former world youth champion Sachin Siwach also opened his campaign with an emphatic 5-0 victory for the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) against Akshay, displaying his readiness to compete for top honours.

KKFI Announces Robust Team India Squad For Kho Kho World Cup 2025

The Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) and the International Kho Kho Federation (IKKF) on Thursday, announced the final TEAM INDIA men's and women's squads for the upcoming Kho Kho World Cup 2025, to be held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi from January 13 to 19. The first edition of this mega event will see participation from 20 men's teams and 19 women's teams, with 23 countries making their way to our beautiful country for the tournament.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has rubbished speculations that the ICC Champions Trophy will be moved out of the country due to delayed construction work at three stadiums that will host the event, starting February 19. The venues in Pakistan organising the tournament are Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium and Karachi's National Bank Stadium, while India will play all its matches in Dubai.
