After Women, Indian Men's Team Also Clinches Inaugural Kho Kho World Cup Title

It was a double delight for India in the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup. The Indian women's team first clinched the title with a dominant 78-40 win over Nepal before the men's team followed the suit with a comprehensive win against the same country. The inaugural edition of Kho Kho World Cup was played from January 13 to 19 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in India. The tournament saw participation from 39 teams in the men and women's categories. The men's competition featured 20 teams divided into four groups while the women's segment had 19 teams put into four sections.

"Where Should They...": Sunil Gavaskar On Karun Nair Being Overlooked For Champions Trophy

Out-of-favour India batter Karun Nair scored 779 runs across 8 innings at an average of 389.50 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. Legendary Sachin Tendulkar made a supportive social media post. But none of it helped. His dream of donning the Indian jersey again after eight years was dashed when the national selectors led by Ajit Agarkar and skipper Rohit Sharma sat together to pick India's squads for the Champions Trophy and the ODIs against England. There was no place in the Indian team for the 33-year-old Vidarbha captain, who even had an average of 752 before the final match of the domestic tournament.

In a masterclass of speed, strategy, and skill, the Indian women's team scripted history by clinching the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025 title at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Sunday. The Women in Blue dominated Nepal in a spectacular final, sealing their victory with an emphatic score of 78-40. A brisk start epitomised Turn 1 as the Indian attackers took charge of proceedings. Three batches in, the Nepal women were out by simple touches on 7 occasions, with 14 points to India's name. Skipper Priyanka Ingle was in the best of form for her team with multiple touch points to her name, as the Indians started off in an exceptional manner. This was enough to take the Women in Blue to 34 points and preventing a single Dream Run for the Nepal team.

Gautam Gambhir, Ajit Agarkar Slammed For This Hardik Pandya Call: "Don't See Any Reason..."

Former India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik has expressed his surprise over the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s decision to strip Hardik Pandya as the vice-captain of the T20I team. This comes after the BCCI did not list Hardik as the designated vice-captain of the team for the upcoming five-match T20I series against England. Instead, all-rounder Axar Patel has been named as deputy to T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav. Karthik feels that the move to strip Hardik off the role makes no sense.
