Former cricketer Suresh Raina shared his views on the importance of Rishabh Pant in the Men in Blue squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 and said that the wicketkeeper-batter needs to "play with more responsibility". Earlier on Saturday, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and skipper Rohit Sharma held a press conference to announce the 15-member squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 and ODI series against England. Pant made his ODI debut in 2018 against West Indies following that he has scored 871 runs in 31 50-over matches at a strike rate of 106.21. The 27-year-old's last ODI game was against Sri Lanka in 2024, where he scored just six runs at a strike rate of 66.66.

Pacer Mohammed Siraj's exclusion from India's Champions Trophy squad has raised a few eyebrows. Indian cricket team wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant has been appointed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Pant, who has previously captained Delhi Capitals in the competition, was bought by LSG for a record Rs 27 crore. Pant was the DC skipper in 2021, 2022 and 2024 but he decided to part ways with the franchise ahead of the new season. Pant became the costliest player to be sold in the history of IPL auctions following a bidding war between LSG and DC. While DC used their Right To Match (RTM), LSG clinched the deal with a record bid.

Priya Saroj's father and SP MLA from Kerakat Tufani Saroj told PTI that his family held "meaningful talks" with Singh's father in Aligarh on February 16 regarding the marriage of their children and both sides agreed to the matrimonial alliance. No ring ceremony or pre-wedding programme has been held so far, he said. According to Tufani Saroj, a three-time MP, his daughter and Singh got acquainted through one of her friends whose father is also a cricketer. "Rinku and Priya have known each other for more than a year now. They both liked each other but needed the consent of their families for their relationship. Both the families have agreed to this marriage," he said.
