Controversy Over Champions Trophy 2025 Ceremony Continues As PCB Take Massive Step

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is still waiting for a "formal clarification" from the ICC on the issue of not have their representative on stage for the closing ceremony of the Champions Trophy in Dubai. India beat New Zealand by four wickets in the title clash on Sunday to win the tournament for the third time. "We have filed a formal complaint with the ICC as what happened is unacceptable to us," a PCB official said on Tuesday. "Not Revoking WFI Suspension Would've Been Injustice To Wrestlers": Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya

Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, on Tuesday, emphasized that revoking Wrestling Federation of India (WFI)'s suspension was essential to allow Indian grapplers' participation in upcoming tournaments, failing which would have been an "injustice" to the athletes. The Ministry has lifted the suspension on the WFI, bringing an end to the months of uncertainty and paving the way for the resumption of activities, including selection trials for the upcoming Asian Championship in Amman. "According to the High Court order, it was necessary to recognize WFI so that we can send our wrestlers for the Asian Championship and World Championship. Otherwise, it would have been an injustice to the future of our country's wrestlers," Mandaviya told reporters.

Sunil Gavaskar Ends Champions Trophy 2025 'Unfair Advantage' Talks, Says "England Didn't Win..."

Legendary Indian cricket team batter Sunil Gavaskar ended the debate over India enjoying any kind of 'unfair advantage' during their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign. India played all of their matches - including the final - in Dubai after their government decided to not send the national side to Pakistan due to political tensions. As a result, several ex-cricketers as well as current players pointed out that it was a huge advantage for Rohit Sharma and Co as they were aware of their fixtures and they did not have to travel to other venues. However, Gavaskar completely rubbished such claims after India's win over New Zealand in the final and even namedropped the England cricket team in his explanation.
