"I Can Never Forget": Virender Sehwag Recalls Worries Ahead Of First Season Of IPL

Former Indian cricket team opener Virender Sehwag recalled how he was informed about the Indian Premier League (IPL) ahead of the first season in 2008. In a recent interaction, the explosive batsman said that Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri told all the national team players about the tournament while they were in Australia and even marveled at the scale that IPL has achieved in the last 15 years. Sehwag was one of the biggest names in the competition and he was picked as the Delhi Daredevils skipper.

2nd Test: 'Unlucky' Virat Kohli falls to a 'controversial dismissal'

Virat Kohli was ruled out LBW to Australia debutant Matthew Kuhnemann in the second session of Day 2 of the 2nd Test at the Kolta on Saturday.Kohli looked assured at the crease for his 44 runs and was looking to take India out of trouble when disaster struck in the 50th over of the Indian innings with the hosts 5 wickets down.The arm ball from Kuhnemann came in and and just squeezed past the bat as Kohli tried to defend, but was struck on the bat and pad almost simultaneously. The Aussies appealed and Indian umpire Nitin Menon raised his finger. Kohli reviewed it straight away and also signalled to his batting partner at the other end KS Bharat that it was sliding down the leg side, doubting there's any bat there.

Virat Kohli Failed To convert a good start into something big as he was dismissed in controversial fashion by the debutant Matthew Kuhnemann on Day 2 of the second Test between India and Australia in New Delhi. Batting on 44, Kohli looked quite comfortable at the crease and when a delivery from the spinner crashed into his pads, he confidently went for the review despite the umpire raising his finger. The replays were inconclusive as it was difficult to figure out whether the ball connected with the bat or the pads. However, the third umpire decided to stick to the on-field umpire's decision. Once he was back in the dressing room, Kohli was seen watching the replays on the screen and along with the coaches, he was also quite unimpressed. However, there was no outburst of emotion from the right-hander.

Peter Handscomb pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Shreyas Iyer cheaply on Day 2 of the second Test encounter between India and Australia in New Delhi on Saturday. Nathan Lyon was the star for Australia as the spinner claimed four wickets in the first session and one of the wickets was that of Iyer. Iyer was cramped for room and the delivery from Nathan Lyon went flying from the inside edge. Handscomb, who was placed at short leg, could not collect the ball cleanly at first but he kept his calm and made sure to complete the catch in his second attempt to deal a heavy blow to the hosts.
