Kabaddi's Global Body Declares World Cup In UK 'Unauthorised'

The International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) on Wednesday declared that the World Cup being held in London is not an "authorised" event and asked the sport's Indian apex body to act against the team that had gone to take part in the tournament. Kabaddi World Cup 2025 is being held in the West Midlands from March 17 to 23. The tournament is being hosted by the England Kabaddi Association and the British Kabaddi League (BKL) under the aegis of World Kabaddi Federation, a parallel international governing body of the sport.

Former sports minister Anurag Thakur's bid to contest the Boxing Federation of India's presidential election was brought back on track after the Himachal Pradesh High Court stayed his disqualification from the Electoral College and directed the BFI to extend the date of nominations to enable his candidature. Thakur, who is also a Lok Sabha MP from Hamirpur, was declared ineligible after a March 7 order by BFI President Ajay Singh which stated that only elected members were qualified to be a part of the electoral process.

Then he turned to me, and I thought, ‘Oh my god, I have to guess this correctly,' because even if they weren't my size, I really wanted his shoes. I said, ‘10,' and he gave them to me. In the next match, I wore those shoes and scored a hundred!" said Reddy in a podcast on PUMA's Youtube channel on Thursday.

Mohammed Siraj Backs Lifting Of Saliva Ban From IPL: 'It Will Help Reverse Swing'

India pacer Mohammed Siraj on Thursday wholeheartedly welcomed the BCCI's decision to lift the saliva ban ahead of IPL 2025, saying it will help the bowlers find "reverse swing" even in benign conditions. The BCCI removed the ban on use of saliva on the cricket ball after a majority of the team captains agreed to its proposal, making it the first major competition to do away with the restriction that was a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. "It's very good for bowlers. It's excellent news for us bowlers because when the ball is not doing anything, applying saliva on the ball will increase the chances of finding some reverse swing," Siraj, who has joined Gujarat Titans this season, told PTI.

Chahal and Dhanashree had filed a divorce plea on February 5 this year, which was accepted by a Mumbai family court on March 20. Chahal and Dhanashree's relationship has been under public scrutiny since 2022, and the pair appeared separately at the Bandra family court for the final settlement of their divorce case on Thursday. Speaking to news agency ANI, Chahal's advocate Nitin Gupta said the family court has granted decree on the joint petition filed by Chahal and Verma for divorce by mutual consent.

The major highlight of the schedule will be South Africa women's teams hosting Ireland and Pakistan for white-ball tours. Both series against Ireland and Pakistan will comprise of three T20Is and as many ODIs. Indian cricket team spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma on Thursday were granted the decree of divorce by the Mumbai family court. Chahal's lawyer, Nitin Kumar Gupta, confirmed the development while speaking to reporters outside the court. "The court has granted the decree of divorce. The court has accepted the joint petition of both parties. The parties are no longer husband and wife," advocate Nitin said in a video by ANI.
