Arshdeep Singh was on fire against the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians for Punjab Kings in an IPL 2023 game on Saturday. In a high-scoring thriller that went on till the last over, Arshdeep picked four wickets to help his team win by 13 runs. Batting first, PBKS notched a huge total of 214/8, but MI were in the fight till the end. At home at the Wankhede Stadium, MI needed 16 off the last over by Arshdeep with big-hitters Tim David and Tilak Varma at the crease. However, what Arshdeep came up with was nothing short of magical. On the third ball, he broke the middle stump in two pieces with Varma on strike. It was not a fluke, as on the next ball, he broke the middle stump once again with Nehal Wadhera on strike!

He played the third-slowest knock in IPL history, by a batter who has played atleast 60 balls in his innings. In the match, KL scored 68 off 61 balls. His knock consisted of eight boundaries. His runs came at a strike rate of 111.48. His knock is the third slowest in IPL history, behind JP Duminy, who played an inning of 59 (63) with a strike rate of 93.65 against Punjab Kings in 2009 while playing for Mumbai Indians (MI). Following him is Aaron Finch, who scored 68 (62) with a strike rate of 109.68 for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Mumbai Indians in 2014.

Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma produced one of the best death-bowling performances in T20 cricket, as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul's half-century went in vain with Gujarat Titans (GT) clinching a seven-run win over the hosts in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Lucknow. Chasing 136 runs, KL Rahul started off by playing another maiden over. But he went on a rampage from the third over, smashing Mohammed Shami for three successive fours and Rashid Khan for two straight boundaries in the fifth over. Kyle Mayers was the anchor on the other end, with KL acting as an accelerator. LSG crossed the 50-run mark in 5.3 overs.
