An emotional India captain Rohit Sharma on Friday recalled his journey from standing outside the Wankhede Stadium as a young player to catch a glimpse of Mumbai Ranji Trophy stars to having a stand named after him at the iconic venue, terming it as an “unreal feeling”. Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has named his top 10 batters of IPL 2025, highlighting their strike-rate as the key criteria behind the picks. However, Manjrekar left Virat Kohli out of his list comprising of four Indian batters. Kohli leads the scoring charts for RCB this season with 248 runs in six matches at a decent strike-rate of 143.35 and an average of 62. He is the sixth highest run-scorer in the tournament this season, with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vice-captain Nicholas Pooran sitting at the top with 357 runs in seven matches.

A group of teachers, who lost their jobs after a recent Supreme Court verdict on the WBSSC recruitment scam, went to Sourav Ganguly's house on Thursday to invite him to a march to the West Bengal state secretariat. However, according to a report by ABP Ananda, the former Indian cricket team skipper has turned down their invitation. The teachers went to Ganguly's residence in Kolkata to invite him for the march that will take on place on April 21 but according to the report, Ganguly responded - "Please don't involve me in politics".
Pakistan on Thursday booked their place in the ICC Women's World Cup 2025. The team managed to seal a spot for itself following a comprehensive 67-run victory over Thailand at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Pakistan have now won all four of their matches in the qualifying tournament, entering the final round with a perfect record. They became the the first team to qualify from the six-nation qualifier that also featured Bangladesh, West Indies, Ireland, Scotland and Thailand. Notably, the top-two finishing teams from the event are set to earn tickets for the Cricket World Cup that takes place in India in September-November.
