India, Pakistan Players Should Demand "Lot Of Money" For Marquee World Cup Clash: Chris Gayle

Talking about the upcoming 50-over World Cup in India later this year, Chris Gayle has picked India, England, Pakistan and New Zealand as the four semi-finalists. On the much awaited Indo-Pak clash in Ahmedabad on October 15, Gayle has a rather different take. "Whenever those teams play, especially in a World Cup, the revenues they generate is humongous. One game can take care of the entire ICC event. Pakistan and India players should demand a lot of money for those games because those games are high paid games TV wise," Gayle told PTI.

"If You Don't Play Him...": Ex BCCI President Surprised At Sarfaraz Khan Not Getting Picked For India

There has been a overgrowing feeling that even to get a nod in Test cricket, one needs to have a solid IPL like Ruturaj Gaikwad had. Former India captain and BCCI chairman Sourav Ganguly, though, disagrees with that notion. He said a prolific batter like Sarfaraz Khan, who could not do well in IPL, should get a chance to prove himself. "I think Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored tons of runs in Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy, Duleep Trophy. I think that's why he is in the squad. I feel for Sarfaraz Khan. At some point he should get an opportunity for the amount of runs that he has scored in past three years," Ganguly told PTI.

Ajit Agarkar Quits Delhi Capitals After Throwing His Hat In Selection Ring: Report

Ajit Agarkar, who is the frontrunner for the Indian chief selector's job, on Thursday relinquished his assistant coach's post in IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. With Agarkar's name in the reckoning, the BCCI might have to increase the annual remuneration of Rs 1 crore offered to the chairman of selectors and Rs 90 lakh for the other members of the panel. Agarkar, as an assistant coach with DC and as a commentator, earns way more than current annual package of chief selector and hence, the BCCI will have to review the existing pay structure.
