Manika defeated a lower-ranked paddler from Croatia Hana Arapovic with 3-1 at the Dom Sportova. Manika will now take on World ranked 11 Shin Yubin of Korea on Friday. On the other, Sutirtha Mukherjee bowed out of the tournament after losing 0-3 to the higher-ranked Korean paddler Yang Ha Eun in 1st round. In Men's single, Sharath Kamal Achanta won his first round against Lilian Bardet in a close battle by 3-2.

Though the schedule for the Asia Cup is yet to be announced, the structure of the tournament is already out, with the event set to take place in Pakistan and Sri Lanka in a 'hybrid' format. The Indian cricket team, who last won the tournament in 2018, would be raring to add to their tally this time around. Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023: India Defeat Iran In Final To Win Eighth Title

India put up a stunning performance to defeat Iran 42-32 in the final of the Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 at the Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Seokdang Cultural Center in Busan, Republic of Korea, on Friday. This was India's eighth title in nine editions. Indian captain Pawan Sehrawat led from the front with a super 10. In the opening five minutes of the match, the Indian men's kabaddi team was down to Iran. However, in the 10th minute of play, Iran was forced to go all-out after a few tackle points by the defence and successful raids by Pawan Sehrawat and Aslam Inamdar.
