BCCI To Question Harmanpreet Kaur Over Outburst, No Appeal Against 2-Match Suspension: Report

BCCI president Roger Binny and head of cricket at the National Cricket Academy, VVS Laxman, will be talking to Indian women's team captain Harmanpreet Kaur for her unwanted aggressive behaviour during the recently-held third ODI against Bangladesh, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said on Thursday. Harmanpreet not only smashed the stumps after getting dismissed in that tied match, but also ranted at the umpires. He has been suspended by the ICC for two matches for the acts.

NEW DELHI : Barely three months to go before the start of the 50-overs World Cup, the organising Indian cricket board has said the schedule would be adjusted and an Oct. 15 India v Pakistan humdinger in Ahmedabad could be among matches affected.

Three wushu players from Arunachal Pradesh, who were to take part in the World University Games beginning on Friday in Chengdu, were issued 'stapled visas' by the Chinese embassy here, which led to the entire team being held back while the players from other sports left the country. Eight wushu players and four team officials were to travel to China from the IGI airport here in the wee hours of Thursday (1am), but all of them have now been told to stay put by the government. Three of the players -- Nyeman Wangsu, Onilu Tega and Mepung Lamgu -- are from Arunachal Pradesh.

His four-wicket haul and Ravindra Jadeja's three-wicket haul formed the bedrock of India's convincing win against West Indies in the first match of the three-ODI series. Kuldeep was the pick of the Indian bowlers with figures of 4/6 in just three overs while Jadeja took three wickets for 37 runs. "I thought it will be a seaming paradise, we are happy we got 7 wickets from our side. It was spinning a bit, and there was bounce as well. It's always good to have competition, we just try to work together," Kuldeep said after the match.

Hardik Pandya's dismissal during the first ODI encounter between India and West Indies in Barbados has resulted in a massive debate on social media. Ishan Kishan slammed the ball straight towards the bowler Yannic Cariah but he was not able to complete the catch. However, the ball bounced out of his hands and crashed directly into the stumps with Pandya out of his crease on the non-striker's end. While the replays clearly showed that Pandya's bat was in the air when the bails were dislodged, fans on social media believed that he should have been given not out according to the new rules. The users pointed out that the bat was grounded and it bounced when he tried to return to the crease. No such observation was made by the third umpire who gave the decision in West Indies' favour.
