In a departure from the norm, on-field umpires have started making random checks on the dimensions of the bats during the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to prevent players from gaining an unfair advantage. Checking the bat dimensions is a prevalent protocol but till the last edition, the process was followed inside the confines of the dressing room. However, the BCCI, in its bid to stay more vigilant in times of brutal power-hitting, has allowed the match officials to check any piece of willow if they deem required, even during a live game.

A huge fight broke out at the Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi on Sunday during the Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians IPL 2025 match. In a video that has gone viral on social media, spectators can be seen fighting during the match in one of the stands. It is not yet known how the fight started. While a female fan could seen hitting a fellow spectator, others were calling for the security to intervene. Then a security official stepped in as controlled the fight which involved at least 10 people.

Don't push them out. The cricketing world needs those guys as much as possible. It is great to have them around still. They still bring a lot of value to international cricket. There is always going to be someone after, but the longer they are around, the better it is for the cricketing world."

Royal Challengers Bengaluru star batter Virat Kohli was left concerned after a fan breached security and entered the field during the IPL 2025 encounter against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday. The incident took place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur as the fan evaded security and ran towards Kohli after the end of the match. Kohli was having a conversation with RR head coach Rahul Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour and opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal when he noticed the pitch invader. The star batter quickly took action and ran away from him. The person was ultimately detained by the security personnel at the ground and he was escorted out of the field as he was seen waving towards Kohli.
