Both Kohli and Rahul accomplished this feat in the same number of innings. However, there are three Indians who have claimed the top three spots in the list as they reached 2,000 runs in ODIs even faster. The top spot belongs to veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan who achieved this milestone in just 48 innings, while former skipper Sourav Ganguly and batter Navjot Sidhu also reached this milestone in 52 innings.
Kishore Jena and Amoj Jacob, who excelled in the Budapest World Championships last month, kept up their good form to earn gold medals at the Indian Grand Prix 5 2023 athletics on Sunday in Chandigarh. Javelin sensation Jena's best attempt, a throw of 82.53m, came on his first try. His following throws read 80.74m, 81.56m and 78.39m. The 28-year-old athlete spoiled on the fifth attempt and finished with 78.98m. All of Jena's permitted throws were finer than the second-placed Vikas Yadav, who accomplished a distance of 72.88m.
India's U-16 team became winners of the SAFF U-16 Championship by beating Bangladesh 2-0 in the title clash in Thimphu on Sunday. Intermittent rain pushed the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup Super 4 clash to a reserve day on Sunday. India were 147 for two in 24.1 overs when heavy rain lashed the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. The rain stopped after that but the resumption was delayed due to wet outfield. A couple of wet patches on the ground was the main reason. The groundstaff even used fans to dry the areas apart from using sponge. However, before the game could resume heavy rain arrived again and forced the game to be moved to Monday.
