The last time India hosted the ODI tournament, the MS Dhoni-led side was able to win the title and skipper Rohit Sharma and Co will be looking to achieve the feat once again. Asian Games 2023: India Men And Women Thrash Thailand In Kabaddi
India continued their impressive run in kabaddi with both the men's and women's teams thrashing their Thailand counterparts in the Asian Games on Wednesday. While the seven-time champions men's team outclassed Thailand 63-26, the women's side prevailed 54-22 in two Group A matches at the Xiaoshan Guali Sports Centre. Looking to regain its Asian Games gold medal, the Indian men's team, which had slipped to a bronze medal at the 2018 Jakarta edition, took a commanding 37-9 lead at half-time.

Neeraj Chopra's first throw at the Asian Games 2023 was not counted by the organisers following a technical glitch during the men's javelin event. Neeraj looked in brilliant form as he pulled off a massive throw on the very first attempt and it looked like he has easily breached the 85m mark. However, confusion ensued among the event organisers as they were unable to measure the throw properly due to a technical glitch and as a result, Neeraj was asked to retake the throw. The first official attempt for Neeraj went for 82.38m and he followed it up with an even better attempt of 84.49m.

Kidambi Srikanth bowed out but top men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty came up with a smashing performance to enter the quarterfinals as India had a mixed day in office in badminton competition of the Asian Games on Wednesday. In a contest that lasted a marathon 84 minutes, Satwik and Chirag prevailed 24-22 16-21 21-12 against Indonesian duo of Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin, who were not willing to concede even an inch to the celebrated Indian duo, ranked No. 3 in the world. Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu and world championships bronze medallist HS Prannoy also sailed into the quarterfinals of the women's and men's singles events respectively with straight game wins.
Asian Games 2023: Indian Men's Team Wins Gold, Women's Team Clinches Silver In 4x400m Relay
The Indian women's 4x400m relay team featuring Vithya Ramraj, Aishwarya Mishra, Prachi and Subha Venkatesan won the silver medal at the ongoing 19th Asian Games on Wednesday. Despite besting the previous Asian Games record time (3:28.68 in 2014 Incheon), the Indian quartet were outplayed by Bahrain, who secured the gold medal with a new record time of 3:27.65. Sri Lanka team won a bronze. Later in the men's 4x400m relay, the quartet of Anas Muhammed Yahiya, Amoj Jacob, Muhammed Ajmal Variyathodi and Rajesh Ramesh broke the national record to clinch India's 18th gold in the Asian Games.
