Sourav Ganguly, former India capain and also an ex-BCCI president, has reacted to the suspension of Indian Premier League 2025. Notably, the tournament has been halted mid-season as tension between India and Pakistan continue to escalate following Operation Sindoor. The match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was abandoned midway due to security reasons on Thursday and the following day saw the event being suspended for seven days. Ganguly showed his belief in the BCCI and said that the Board will complete the tournament.
ECB Makes Huge Offer To BCCI After IPL 2025 Postponement: Report
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has reportedly offered to host the remainder of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Notably, the season has been suspended for a week as the tensions between India and Pakistan escalate. The contest between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals on Thursday, that happened to be the 58th match of IPL 2025, was called off midway due to security reasons and the crowd at the venue was evacuated. The following day saw the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) postponing IPL 2025. The tournament has 16 more matches to be played, including the playoffs.

A special Vande Bharat train having both Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) players and support staff members, match officials, commentators, broadcast crew members, operations staff and other key personnel associated with the called off IPL 2025 game in Dharamshala has reached New Delhi from Jalandhar. The DC team bus, along with other buses, were in readiness near the Safdarjung Railway Station to ferry players from both teams and various key personnel to their hotels. After deboarding the train, everyone went into their earmarked buses and were off to their respective hotels in New Delhi. The likes of KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ricky Ponting, Nehal Wadhera, Marco Jansen, Tristan Stubbs, Heman Badani, Jake Fraser McGurk, Yuzi Chahal, Priyansh Arya, Axar Patel, Shashank Singh, Brad Haddin, Patrick Farhat, along with entire DC and PBKS teams, commentators Alan Wilkins and Graeme Swann, and PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta amongst others were seen entering their respective buses after arriving at the railway station.

Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals contingents were on Friday evacuated from Dharamsala and were escorted to the Jalandhar railway station in batches through Hoshiarpur amid tight security, Kangra's Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri has revealed. The squads are currently in transit to New Delhi aboard a special train, said the official. The IPL match between Punjab and Delhi was called off mid-way on Thursday after Pakistan attempted to invade the airspace near Chandigarh with a drone attack, mandating an Indian retaliation. "On Friday morning, the entire contingents of both teams, including players, coaching staff, and broadcast personnel, were moved in around 40 to 50 small vehicles from Dharamsala to Hoshiarpur, located at the Punjab border," the official said.

The Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 was scheduled to be India's first-ever International Javelin throw competition. The World Athletics is the official sanctioning body of this historic event, which Neeraj Chopra was organising in collaboration with JSW Sports and the Athletics Federation of India (AFI). The event would have seen the participation of several Olympic medallists, including Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Neeraj Chopra, Thomas Rohler, Anderson Peters and others.

PSL 2025 Postponed Indefinitely On Advice Of PM Shahbaz Sharif: PCB
The Pakistan Cricket Board on Friday postponed the Pakistan Super League (PSL), hours after announcing that the T20 tournament has been shifted to the UAE because of the ongoing military conflict with India. The BCCI has also suspended the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to heightened tension in the wake of 'Operation Sindoor' following Pahalgam terror attack. "The decision to postpone has been taken pursuant to advice received from the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who has kept in view the reckless aggression from India that has escalated to a point where national attention and sentiments are rightly focused on the courageous efforts of the Armed Forces of Pakistan who are vociferously upholding the sovereignty of our beloved Pakistan," PCB said in a statement said "The PCB and its players stand resolutely in solidarity with the families of the martyrs and our security personnel defending the nation," the statement added further.
