While cricket remains the most-followed sport in India, the Pro Kabaddi League has emerged as the second-most-watched event in the country, after the Indian Premier League. Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, the owner of PKL franchise Jaipur Pink Panthers, spoke to NDTV about his love for the kabaddi and how he got into the sport at first. While Abhishek remains a sports fan, who holds basketball, football and cricket close to him, it was industrialist Anand Mahindra who got him into kabaddi.

165 Players To Go Under Hammer In Women's Premier League Auction On December 9

As many as 165 players will go under the hammer during the player auction for the second edition of the Women's Premier League scheduled to be held in Mumbai on December 9. The second edition of the WPL could take place in February-March next year. "Out of 165 players, 104 are Indians and 61 are overseas cricketers of which 15 are from associate nations. The total capped players are 56, uncapped players are 109," BCCI said in a release on Saturday.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Suryakumar revealed that in the team meeting, he asked the players to be fearless in the game. He also hailed Axar Patel and said that the way he bowled was unbelievable. "Other than toss, everything (went well). Boys showed character and that was most important for us. We spoke in the meeting before the game to go out and express yourself and be fearless. I always love putting Axar under pressure and the way he bowled was unbelievable. The plan (during the death overs) was to go for the yorkers and then see what happens," he said.

The Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team put up a solid show in their second game of the FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup 2023 but the runners-up of the last edition of the elite tournament, Germany, came from behind to register a 4-3 victory in a thrilling match played in Santiago, Chile, on Friday. For India, Annu (11'), Ropni Kumari (14'), and Mumtaz Khan (24') were the goalscorers, while Sophia Schwabe (17'), Laura Pluth (21', 36'), and Carolin Seidel's (38') netted goals for Germany. India quickly settled into a passing rhythm, dominating the game in the opening quarter by controlling possession and continuously testing Germany's defensive line.
