India vs South Africa: After Falling Twice To Kagiso Rabada, Rohit Sharma Trains Against This India Bowler

It was an optional session at the Supersport Park but for India skipper Rohit Sharma, skipping the nets wasn't an option. Outfoxed by South African pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada in both innings of the opening Test, Rohit was present as skipper and batter in equal measure during a two-hour session. The Indian captain was focussed on facing Mukesh Kumar, who bowled only to Rohit for at least 45 minutes.

Sahal Abdul Samad Makes Cut As Igor Stimac Names 26-Member Squad For AFC Asian Cup

Grappling with injuries to key midfielders, India on Saturday named a 26-member squad for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup with Sahal Abdul Samad making the cut but Jeakson Singh and Glan Martins missing out due to issues related to fitness. Top defensive midfielder Jeakson, who underwent shoulder injury in November, was always doubtful and so was Mohun Bagan's Martins, who got injured recently. Both of them were among the 50 probables. However, Samad, who had also picked up an injury early this month, managed to get into the side that will be spearheaded by seasoned striker Sunil Chhetri.

More than 20 athletes from various sports have returned positive for banned drugs in tests conducted during the National Games in Goa in October-November in one of the biggest heaps of doping cases in the country. "Why Is Virat Kohli Not India Captain?": Ex-CSK, RCB Star's Strongly Worded 'Valid Question'

Former India batter Subramaniam Badrinath wants star batter Virat Kohli to lead the team in Test cricket. His comments came after India lost to South Africa by an innings and 32 runs in the first Test in Centurion last Thursday. Kohli had relinquished his Test captaincy during the same tour two years back, paving way for Rohit Sharma to become the new skipper in the longest format of the game. Rohit also replaced Kohli as India's full-time captain last year.

Shubman Gill's "One Mistake...": Sunil Gavaskar's Blunt Take On Youngster's Show vs South Africa

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar analysed Shubman Gill's second innings dismissal during the first Test against South Africa. India suffered an embarrassing innings and 32-run defeat at the hands of the Proteas in the one-sided game in Centurion. In his first innings, an unlucky Gill fell for 2 off 12 balls after brushing a ball with his glove down the leg side on the bowling of Nandre Burger. Gill was looking solid at the crease in his second innings, having scored 26 runs at a strike rate of over 70, but a superb yorker from Marco Jansen sent him packing.

"Wasn't One Of Rohit Sharma's Best Days...": Ex-India Star On 'Blunder' In South Africa Loss

Former Indian cricket team batter Sanjay Manjrekar was not happy with Rohit Sharma's captaincy in the first Test against South Africa in Centurion. India slumped to a heavy loss against South Africa within three days and it means that India's quest of winning a Test series in South Africa remained unsuccessful once again. Manjrekar pointed out Rohit's decision to use Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna straight after lunch on Day 3 as a 'blunder' and said that it was not 'one of Rohit's best days".
