Rohit Sharma's Three-Word Review For '12th Fail', Vikrant Massey Reacts

While speaking at an event in Mumbai on Friday, India captain Rohit Sharma revealed that the movie he recently watched is '12th Fail'. Reacting to it host of the event Mandira Bedi said, "Very inspiring film." For the unversed, 12th Fail is a realistic and restrained adaptation of a book of the same name. The film, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, centres on a young man, a struggling Hindi medium student, who makes the journey from a lawless Chambal village to the top echelons of the police force, inevitably hitting many a daunting roadblock on the way. While the movie starring Vikrant Massey got a great response from the crowd, Rohit too decided to take out some personal time and watch it.

Former Australia skipper Ian Chappell feels England under Ben Stokes will give India tough competition in the remainder of the Test series but backed the hosts to win it. India's oldest Test cricketer and former captain Dattajirao Gaekwad died on Tuesday due to age-related ailments. Gaekwad, who was the father of former India opener and national coach Aunshuman Gaekwad, was 95. He breathed his last early this morning after battling for life in the ICU of a Baroda hospital for the past 12 days, a source in the family told PTI. He played 11 Tests for India between 1952 and 1961, captaining the national team in 1959 when it toured England.

The lack of multiple entry India visa had delayed Rehan Ahmed's exit from the airport after England arrived here for the third Test, but the spinner's teammate Ollie Pope hoped that the issue will be resolved ahead of the match, beginning on Thursday. England had flown to Abu Dhabi on an extended 10-day break after the second Test at Visakhapatnam but on the team's return on Monday, Ahmed was stopped from leaving the Hirasar airport here because he had only a single-entry visa.

The Indian women hockey team's disappointing run in the FIH Pro League continued as it lost 1-2 to China in Rourkela on Monday. India took the lead in the seventh minute through Sangita Kumari's field goal but China equalised in the 14th minute through Gu Bingfeng (penalty corner), who scored his second goal of the match in the 53rd minute through a penalty stroke. India had lost to China by the same 1-2 margin in their earlier match on February 3 in Bhubaneswar.

Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh fumbled again and went down fighting against world number two Fabiano Caruana of United States in the first game of the quarterfinals in the Weissenhaus Freestyle Chess challenge in Wangels, Germany. Gukesh had a slight advantage in the middle game against Caruana but that slipped off quickly and the American Grandmaster pounced on his opportunity thereafter to take the full point home. The game lasted 39 moves.
