On Monday, Tiwary a popular figure in Jharkhand drew curtains on his professional cricket career. When he came out to bat in the second innings, Rajasthan players lined up to give him a guard of honour. Tiwary led the team and struck 42 in the first innings in his farewell game and after the conclusion of his professional cricket he talked about his unfulfilled dream of lifting the Ranji Trophy and vowed to help the team to achieve it.

The Indian men's and women's sides registered contrasting wins in their final group games to progress to the knock-out phase of the Word Table Tennis Team Championships on Tuesday. While the Indian women's team pulled off a thrilling come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Spain, the men's side brushed aside New Zealand 3-0. The Indian women's team, the stronger side on paper, were pushed against the wall but found a way to scrape past the Spaniards after Sreeja Akula and Manika Batra lost the first two singles of the tie. Pakistan Not To Take Part In Asian Track Cycling Championships: CFI Top Official

The Cycling Federation of India (CFI) Secretary Mahinder Pal Singh said on Monday that Pakistani athletes are unlikely to take part in the 43rd Senior Asian Track Cycling Championship, starting from February 21 onwards. The 43rd edition of the championship will be held in Delhi from February 21 to February 26.

An eight-year-old Indian-origin boy defeated Polish chess grandmaster Jacek Stopa at the Burgdorfer Stadthaus Open in Switzerland on Sunday, becoming the youngest player to defeat a GM in classical chess. Ashwath Kaushik, who represented Singapore, defeated Stopa, who at 37 is nearly five times older than him, according to a Channel News Asia report. The previous record was set only a few weeks earlier when Serbia's Leonid Ivanovic, who is several months older than Ashwath, beat 60-year-old Bulgarian grandmaster Milko Popchev at the Belgrade Open.

Currently, the hosts lead the five-match series 2-1 with still two matches to go in the series. The fourth Test will commence on February 23 at JSCA International Stadium Complex followed by the fifth and final Test of the series to be played at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. Gulveer Singh Wins 3000m Gold In Asian Indoor Championships

Gulveer Singh fetched India's fourth gold medal in the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships as he won the 3000m final race on the concluding day of competitions. Gulveer clocked 8 minute 07.48 seconds to finish on top of podium in the non Olympic athletics event. Keneshbekov Nursultan (8:08.85) of Kyrgystan and Jalil Naseri (8:09.39) of Iran took the silver and bronze respectively. Earlier in the day, Ankita won a silver medal in women's 3000m race with a time of 9:26.22.

Jasprit Bumah too took two wickets to increase his tally to 17 wickets - the most by anyone.
