While speaking to the media, McCullum said that they lacked confidence at the end of the series as Rohit Sharma's India put a lot of pressure on the visitors. "If anything, we got more timid as the series went on, and that was because of the pressure that was applied to us by the Indian line-up, not just with the ball. With the bat, they put us under a tremendous amount of pressure, too," McCullum was quoted by ESPNCricinfo as saying.

The India vs England Test series was entertaining on all aspects. While the five-match contest offered some gritty knocks and promising spells, it also saw a world record being registered in terms of sixes. India and England together hit a total of 102 sixes, which is the most in any Test series. Rohit Sharma and Co. hit 72 of them while guests England smashed the remaining 30. Out of the ones India hit, Yashasvi Jaiswal individually accounted for 29 sixes. He also went on to break Rohit's world record of hitting most sixes in a Test series.
