Rohit Sharma is all set to captain the Indian cricket team in the upcoming Test series against England with the BCCI shortlisting around 35 players fro the tour, according to a report by Times Of India. While there was some speculation over Rohit's position following the series loss against Australia, he is expected to stay as captain. The report also claimed that the selectors are keen to find a steady middle-order batter who can No. 5 or 6 with Karun Nair and Devdutt Padikkal being the top contenders. However, Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel have reportedly not part of the selectors' shortlist as of now.
The iconic Lord's Cricket Ground will host the final of the expanded Women's T20 World Cup on July 5 next year, the International Cricket Council announced on Thursday. The 12-team tournament will begin on June 12 and feature 33 matches, culminating in a grand finale at Lord's, which also hosted the final of the 2017 Women's ODI World Cup. In addition to Lord's, six other venues will stage matches, including Old Trafford, Headingley, Edgbaston, The Oval, Hampshire Bowl, and the Bristol County Ground.

Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav recently reflected on his debut season for Mumbai Indians in 2011 and said that he “barely slept” the night before the game. Suryakumar first came into prominence during the 2011–12 Ranji Trophy season, where he emerged as the top scorer for Mumbai with 754 runs in nine matches. His impressive domestic form earned him a spot in the Mumbai Indians squad the same year. In the 2012 IPL, Suryakumar made his debut for Mumbai Indians against Pune Warriors at the Wankhede Stadium. He played in one match and was dismissed for a duck. This was also the only match he played for MI in that season.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni was spotted having a long chat with franchise CEO Kasi Viswanathan, following the loss to Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday. Despite the loss ending CSK's IPL 2025 playoff hopes, Dhoni and Kasi were all smiles, with latter also clapping before starting the conversation. In a viral video, Kasi can be seen making hand gestures while explaining something to Dhoni. This comes amid speculations of this IPL season being Dhoni's last as a player.
Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed leg-spinner Raghu Sharma as a replacement for Vignesh Puthur, who has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2025 due to injury, the franchise said on Thursday. This marks Raghu's maiden stint in the IPL. He joins MI at the base price of Rs 30 lakh from the RAPP list. Raghu, born on March 11, 1993, in Jalandhar, Punjab, is a right-arm leg-break bowler. He has represented Punjab and Puducherry in domestic cricket. In 11 first-class matches, he has taken 57 wickets at an average of 19.59, with best bowling figures of 7/56. In List A cricket, he has claimed 14 wickets in 9 matches, with best figures of 4/37. He has also featured in 3 T20 matches, picking up 3 wickets.
