BCCI Recalls Overseas Stars As IPL 2025 Nears Resumption: Report

Just days after the suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to a military conflict between India and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given the first indication over the league's resumption. A number of overseas stars left the country after the tournament had to be paused over security concerns. As per a report, the BCCI and the franchises have started making calls to recall the players, even as the board awaits clearance from the Indian government over the date on which the T20 league can be resumed.

Virat Kohli Test Retirement Plans Revealed: Reports Says 'Having These Conversations For...'

Indian batting legend Virat Kohli has communicated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about his intention to retire from Test cricket, reported ESPNCricinfo on Saturday. This report comes just two days after batter and his long-time teammate Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from whites and just over a month before India kickstarts its ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 campaign against England with a five-match series, starting at Headingley from June 20 onwards. As per ESPNCricinfo, Virat has been having such conversations with the board over the past month or so. If Virat indeed retires, it would mark the end of an illustrious Test career of 14 years, during which he made 9,230 runs in 123 Tests at an average of 46.85, with 30 centuries. He is also India's most successful Test captain ever, having won 40 out of 68 Tests with the armband.

'BCCI To Discuss IPL Resumption Options On Sunday': Rajeev Shukla

BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla on Saturday said the Board officials and IPL Governing Council will discuss on Sunday the best possible schedule to complete the suspended T20 League following the announcement of an immediate ceasefire between India and Pakistan. The Board was forced to suspend the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday, with 16 matches remaining, as the India-Pakistan border conflict threatened to grow into a full-blown war following the Pahalgam terror attack and India's subsequent Operation Sindoor.

"Ghatiya Desh Ne...": Shikhar Dhawan, Virender Sehwag's Dig At Pakistan Over Ceasefire Violation

Former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and Shikhar Dhawan minced no words as they criticised Pakistan following its violation of the ceasefire agreement with India on Saturday. Just hours after both nations publicly agreed to a truce, multiple explosions were reported across the International Border and Line of Control (LoC), with Pakistani drones targeting sensitive regions in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Multiple violations were reported despite Pakistan promising to ceasefire. The breach of the promise, hence, left Indians infuriated.

What India-Pakistan Ceasefire Means For The Restart Of IPL 2025 - Explained

A full and immediate ceasefire on land, air and sea has been agreed between India and Pakistan after a few days of cross-border hostilities, including missile and drone attacks aimed at several cities of India. The rising tension had led to the suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season provisionally for one week, with players - both Indian and overseas - flying back to their homes. However, with ceasefire having been agreed, there remains the possibility of IPL 2025 resuming in the near future.

Shubman Gill Set To Lead India In Tests, Claims Report. Says Vice-Captain Will Be...

Flamboyant keeper-batter Rishabh Pant, in all likelihood, will be India's new vice-captain in Tests with talented batter Shubman Gill set to take charge of the national team in the traditional format. The choice of vice-captain seems to be a straight forward one as Pant is one of India' finest Test batters in overseas conditions and Jasprit Bumrah can't be considered for the role of deputy due to his stature and also when his own fitness is iffy, making him uncertain for full series. An average of 42 plus with hundreds in Australia, England and South Africa along with seven scores between 90 and 99 makes Pant of the best batters in the format.
