The Olympic-bound Indian table tennis team is currently training in the German city of Saarbrucken with the support staff outnumbering the players who will be competing in Paris. Italy's Massimo Costantini, who has returned as India's head coach for a third third time ahead of the Paris Olympics, is getting help from former player Sourav Chakraborty as the other national coach of the contingent. What is unusual is that as many as four personal coaches have been cleared by the government to travel with the squad with all three members of the women's team wanting their own through their stay in the Summer Games beginning July 26.

Indian badminton star Parupalli Kashyap has recalled his recent meeting with legendary cricketer MS Dhoni. During a recent appearance on a podcast, Kashyap revealed that he had the opportunity of meeting Dhoni at a wedding. The 37-year-old suggested that since everyone doesn't follow badminton, he introduced himself to Dhoni as Saina's husband. Javelin Star Arshad Nadeem Pakistan's Best Hope In Paris Olympics 2024

Arshad Nadeem, one of star Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra's fiercest competitors in international competitions, will head an 18-member Pakistan contingent to the Paris Olympics with the hope of clinching the elusive medal for his country at the quadrennial showpiece. The Pakistan Olympic Association on Monday announced the contingent comprising seven athletes and 11 officials, including coaches in four disciplines. Besides Nadeem, Pakistan's best hope in athletics, the other athletes are shooter Kishmala Talat, sprinter Faiqa Riaz and swimmer Jehanara Nabi, among others.

PCB To Reduce Central Contracts Duration But No Pay Cut For Pakistan Cricketers

The Pakistan Cricket Board on Monday decided to reduce duration of its central contracts from three years to one but opted against reducing payment to its players. The decisions were taken during a meeting in Lahore called by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Among those present in the meeting were Pakistan's new red-ball coach Jason Gillespie, white-ball coach Gary Kirsten, selectors Mohammad Yousuf and Asad Shafiq, assistant coach Azhar Mahmood and other senior officials. The board said it intends to make significant overhauls to its policies after the national team's debacle in the T20 World Cup, wherein Pakistan failed to make the Super Eight stage following defeats to India and the USA.

Samson was at his languid best, hitting a four and four sixes in his knock, while sharing a 65-run stand off 56 balls for the fourth wicket with Riyan Parag, to bail India out of trouble after losing their top three batters in powerplay.
