ICC Loses Rs 167 Crore After Hosting T20 World Cup 2024 In USA. Report Makes Big Claim

The International Cricket Council suffered losses of around USD 20 million (Rs 167 crore) for hosting the T20 World Cup 2024 games in the USA, according to a report by PTI. The report claimed that it will be one of the major topics of discussion during the ICC Annual Conference starting on Friday in Colombo. While the topic is not part of the nine-point agenda of the Annual General Meeting (AGM), the report said that it will be discussed as a "post-event report". A major part of the tournament was hosted in USA including the much-anticipated match between India and Pakistan that took place in New York.

The Asian Games gold medallist with a World Record of 469.6, said since the Olympics came after four years which is why it is much bigger than the other normal world cups but for her, it's just another competition, and she will follow the same things she did in previous tournaments and training sessions.

Out-of-favour India spinner Amit Mishra has made a bold claim during a recent interview. The cricketer, who last played for the nation in February 2017, opined that Samson is old now to feature in the 2026 T20 World Cup squad. Mishra claimed that it is Virat Kohli, who put forward this idea of giving young players more chances in the shortest format for India than the older ones. It is worth noting that Samson, 29, was part of India's 2024 T20 World Cup-winning team, though he warmed the bench throughout the tournament with Rishabh Pant playing the role of wicketkeeper-batter.

The big-hitter, Dube did not have much impact with the bat in the T20 showpiece, scoring 13 runs in eight matches with the highest score 34. But, he proved his worth when it needed the most. His 27 off 16 balls cameo in the summit clash turned out to be vital in India's title triumph.
