A foreign player pulling out of an Indian Premier League (IPL) season after the auction is a headache for the respective franchise he belongs to. The franchises put a lot of effort in assembling the team, hence it is quite understandable that a withdrawl of any important player affects the balance of the team. A lot of star overseas players, including the likes of Ben Stokes, Jofra archer and Jason Roy, have pulled out of an IPL edition in the past. While some had justifiable reasons to do that, others failed to provide a valid account of their absence.

The IPL team owners were divided in their opinions on issues ranging from the mega auction to the impact substitute player rule when they met with the BCCI officials here on Wednesday. With the mega auction slated to be held ahead of the 18th edition of the T20 league next year, the BCCI had called for a meeting here at its headquarters to discuss the pointers and secretary Jay Shah confirmed the same after the meeting.

Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan argued against hosting a mega auction ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 during the IPL owners' meeting at the BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai on Wednesday, according to a report by Cricbuzz. The report claimed that the Bollywood superstar wanted BCCI to conduct a small auction and that led to a heated argument with Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Wadia. However, SRK has found support in Sunrisers Hyderabad owner Kavya Maran. In a statement released to Cricbuzz after the meeting, Maran spoke against holding a IPL mega auction.

Swapnil Kusale Makes 50m Rifle 3 Positions Final After Finishing Seventh

Indian shooter Swapnil Kusale on Wednesday qualified for the finals of 50m rifle 3 positions in Chateauroux after finishing seventh in the qualification round but Aishwary Tomar ended at the 11th position to make an exit. Kusale shot 198 (99, 99) in kneeling position, 197 (98, 99) in prone and 195 (98, 97) in standing position as top eight shooters in a field of 44 made it to the final round.
