The GMR Group, co-owners of IPL franchise Delhi Capitals, has agreed to a deal with English county team Hampshire to buy its major shares worth 120 million pounds (approximately Rs 1278 crore). Hence, Hampshire will become the first county side to be owned by an overseas entity, as the GMR Group will now have control over 51 per cent of the team's shares. "The Delhi part-owners are understood to have beaten a second bid from rival Indian Premier League franchise Lucknow Super Giants with an offer which values Hampshire at 120 million pounds, although that price includes the club's debts of around 60 million pounds," the Telegraph reported.

Skipper Rohit Sharma on Thursday said it is a tough decision to pick India's wicketkeeper batter in ODIs between KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant, maintaining that both the players are "match-winners" in their own way. Pant made a return to India colours during the T20 World Cup in the Americas, while Rahul will be eyeing his first one-day game since this January during the opening match against Sri Lanka on Friday. "It's a tough call (wicketkeeper-batter between Rahul and Pant) to make. Both are quality players, and you know the abilities of both the players. They are match-winners in their own way. Veteran India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin isn't someone who is known to lose his cool on the ground. Ashwin, usually a calm and collective person, was spotted seething in anger during a Tamil Nadu Premier League match. Ashwin, standing in his team's dugout made an aggressive gesture towards someone, and even hurled a mouthful. Ashwin's angry avatar was witnessed during the Dindigul Dragons' collapse against Chepauk Super Gillies in the Eliminator tie of the 2024 edition of TNPL. Ashwin's dugout act unfolded in the 17th over of the chase, when his teammate Sharath Kumar survived a dismissal scare, with the fielder dropping a rather easy catch.
