The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) sources stated that Bhaker will be India's women's flagbearer in the closing ceremony. India's men's flagbearer for the ceremony is yet to be confirmed. The closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics will take place on August 11. Bhaker brought her A-game in Paris and broke numerous accolades to claim two bronze medals in the Summer Games.

Chinese duo Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong won the badminton mixed doubles gold medal at the Paris Olympics after beating South Korea's Kim Won-ho/Jeong Na-eun in the final on Friday. Zheng and Huang, silver medalists at the Tokyo Olympics, won the gold medal match 21-8, 21-11. While it must be the only big moment of the day for Siwei, but not for Yaqiong, who was proposed by her boyfriend and Chinese men's doubles player Liu Yuchen, right in front of the entire crowd. Olympics debutant Nishant Dev (71kg) bowed out of the Paris Games following a heartbreaking defeat to Mexico's Marco Verde Alvarez in the Men's 71kg quarterfinal here on Saturday. The 23-year-old World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Indian lost by a 1-4 split verdict to his second seed Mexican opponent in the quarterfinal at the North Paris Arena. Nishant started well, with four judges ranking him higher after the first round. However, Nishant was unable to hold the momentum, notably beginning to fatigue from the second round onwards, as Verde was able to land more punches.

India's Nethra Kumanan had a tough day in office in the women's dinghy sailing event's opening series at the Paris Olympics as she slipped to 24th spot after Race 6 in Marseille, France on Saturday. Having finished 11th after three races on Friday, the 26-year-old slipped to 24th after three more races on Saturday. While Nethra was placed 19th after Race 4, she dropped to 25th after Race 5 before regaining some composure and finishing a spot above after Race 6. As for the men's dinghy event, Vishnu Saravanan was placed 23rd after Race 6 on Saturday.
