Yogesh Kathuniya Bags Second Consecutive Paralympic Silver In Men's Discus Throw F-56 Event

India's Yogesh Kathuniya clinched his second consecutive Paralympic silver medal in men's discus throw F-56 event with a season's best effort 42.22m at the ongoing Games in Paris on Monday. The 27-year-old hurled the discus to the podium-clinching distance in his very first attempt to add to the silver he won in the Tokyo Paralympics three years ago. Brazil's Claudiney Batista dos Santos registered a hat-trick of Paralympic gold medals, creating a new Games record with an effort of 46.86m in his fifth attempt.

One of India's finest bowlers in this generation, Mohammed Shami has delivered the goods for his country, no matter the format. Team India T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav is set to miss the first round of the 2024-25 season of the Duleep Trophy after suffering an injury during last week's pre-season fixture for Mumbai at the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament in Coimbatore. In the match against TNCA XI last week, Suryakumar did not bat in the second innings due to a hand injury sustained during the third day while fielding. The right-hand batter has been advised to take a rest and he is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in order to recover from his injury.

The Indian trio of Dhanush Srikanth, Shourya Saini and Mohammed Murtaza Vania made a clean sweep of the 10m Air Rifle men's event on Day Two of the 2nd World Deaf Shooting Championship 2024 being held at Hanover, Germany. Mahit Sandhu and Natasha Joshi also won silver and bronze in the women's event as India added five medals to the four (one gold, two silver and one bronze) they won on Day One of the competition.
