Rishabh Pant is all set to return to international red-ball cricket after the wicket-keeper batter was included in the Indian cricket team squad for the first Test match against Bangladesh starting September 19. Pant will be making his return after around 20 months as he was sidelined for a long time following the injuries suffered in a car accident in 2022. He was a key member of the Indian cricket team at the T20 World Cup 2024 and he also made his ODI return against Sri Lanka. Pant has now found a fan in WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff.

AIFF To Have 'Independent' Inquiry Into Ex-Head Coach Igor Stimac's Contract Renewal Process

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Tuesday called for an independent inquiry into former head coach Igor Stimac's contract renewal procedures after the Croatian and the national body agreed to USD 400,000 compensation settlement for terminating him from the job. During the Annual General Body meeting of the AIFF held here, the members discussed the renewal, termination and eventual settlement of claims under the federation's contract with Stimac. "The members called for an independent inquiry into the internal procedures that had been followed and the personnel that were involved when the head coach's contract had been renewed in 2023 on unapproved and unfavourable terms," the AIFF said.

National record holder 3000m steeplechaser Avinash Sable will run in his maiden Diamond League Final in Brussels, joining star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra in the season-ending event, as he is listed among 12 participants for the winner-takes-all race on Friday. Sable finished 14th in the overall Diamond League standings with three points he garnered from two meetings.
