"Virat Kohli's Team Won": 'Competition' In India Training Ahead Of Bangladesh Test Series

T. Dilip, India's fielding coach, talked about an idea of a competitive fielding drill he brought for the side's practice session on Monday ahead of the Test series opener against Bangladesh in Chennai, saying the thought behind this exercise was to get the whole team involved in it. “Today's whole session's idea was to get everyone together as a team drill, where we have two segments to it, the first segment was the competition drill, taking into consideration the humidity at Chennai. We made sure that the volume is less, but the intensity is taken care of. So we split it into two groups and had some little competition among catching, and the less number of errors is the team which won, and today it was Virat's team which has won today,” said Dilip in a video posted on BCCI's X account.

"Saw Sachin Tendulkar Unhappy For First Time": Ex-India Star On Infamous 194* Declaration vs Pakistan In Multan

The Multan Test between India and Pakistan in 2004 is remembered for Virender Sehwag's swashbuckling 309 - the first time an Indian cricketer scored a Test triple-century. However, there was another incident from the Test match that went on to become one of the controversial moments of Indian cricket. With India batting on 675/5 and Sachin Tendulkar unbeaten on 194, skipper Rahul Dravid decided to declare the first innings. While the decision was taken by the Indian cricket team considering the match situation, it meant that Sachin was left stranded six runs away from his double century. Sachin was visibly disappointed with the decision and it was widely criticised by both fans and experts. Former India batter Aakash Chopra recently spoke about the incident and how Tendulkar was extremely "unhappy".

Backed by the two in-form stars in World Championship challenger D Gukesh and Arjun Erigaise, the Indian men scored a 3-1 victory over Azerbaijan in the fifth round of the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest. It seems like Gukesh and Arjun can do nothing wrong in this Olympiad as they overpowered Aydin Sulemanli and Rauf Mamedov respectively with their white pieces in quick time. Praggnanandhaa played another draw on board two to only ensure an Indian victory while Vidit Gujrathi played out a draw with Shakhriyar Mamedyarov in a marathon game to complete the triumph.

Ravichandran Ashwin, one of India's finest in the longest format of the game, gears up for the 2-match Test series against Bangladesh, hoping to add some more laurels to his already decorated cap. When it comes to home Tests, there's arguably a better asset for the Indian team with the ball than Ashwin.
