Thanks to the half-century, Jaiswal became the first batter in the 147-year history of Test cricket to score more than 750 runs in his first 10 innings at home. The record previously belonged to George Headley of West Indies who slammed 747 back in 1935.

Indian weightlifter Valluri Ajaya Babu produced a record-breaking performance to clinch the gold medal in the men's 81kg junior and senior categories at the Commonwealth Championships at Suva in Fiji on Thursday. The 19-year-old Babu heaved a total of 326kg (147kg + 179kg) to finish on top of the podium. With his performance, Babu set a Commonwealth record clean and jerk in the 81kg junior category. He also smashed the junior national marks in snatch, clean and jerk and total weight sections.

There was no goal in the first three quarters of the summit clash but Jugraj was able to find the back of the net in the 51st minute to guide his side to a record-extending fifth title. It was a rare goal for the 27-year-old who plays as a centre-back but its importance was not lost on anyone. It was a shining moment for Jugraj who used to sell tricolour flags and water bottles to tourists at the Attari-Wagah border to help his family financially.

Team India star Rishabh Pant was involved in a heated exchange with Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das on Day 1 of the 1st Test in Chennai. The incident happened in the 15th over of India's first innings with Taskin Ahmed bowling to Yashasvi Jaiswal. Taskin bowled a good length a delivery to Jaiswal who defended it towards gully. Pant wanted to steal a run but was sent back by Jaiswal. As the fielder sent the ball towards the non-striker's end, it deflected off Pant's pads and went towards mid-on.
