India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was at his best behind the stumps, not just with his glovework but also with his usual chatter, during Day 2 of the first Test match between India and Bangladesh. After Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja had helped India to a good total, it was their turn to star with the ball. Pant urged the duo on from behind the stumps, chipping in with his own advice as well. Once again, Pant's charisma from behind the stumps was well on display.

Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill were in great form for India against Bangladesh on the third day of the first Test in Chennai On Saturday. Though they started slow, the young duo changed gears after the drinks break to take on the Bangladesh bowlers. They were helped by two dropped chances from Bangladesh fielders as the two Indian batters made merry. Bangladesh's field setting was criticised by Ravi Shastri and Tamim Iqbal as they were blasted for lack of intent.

India pacer Akash Deep, playing in only his second Test, had to suffer an unfortunate blow. The 27-year-old showed confidence with the bat on Day 2, adding a cameo to the Indian total. Deep contributed 17 off just 30 balls, hitting four brilliant boundaries along the way. However, he also had to suffer a painful hit, as a misdirected throw from Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud hit him right on his backside. Soon after, it appeared as if India coach Gautam Gambhir was in a fit of laughter at the incident.
